Have you ever felt spiritually stuck? Like you’re going through the motions but nothing feels alive? The prayers feel flat. The Bible feels confusing or distant. And you wonder if something’s wrong with you.
f that’s you—I want you to know: You’re not broken. You’re human. And you’re not alone. Dry seasons have purpose. Even the strongest believers go through dry or stuck seasons. (Just read the Psalms. David was no stranger to this.)
So what do we do when we feel spiritually stuck? Here’s what’s been helping me—and I pray it encourages you too.
1. Be honest with God about how you feel. God already knows, friend. But something shifts in our hearts when we speak it out: “Lord, I feel stuck. I want to want You, but I’m struggling.” Honesty is the first step back into connection.
2. Go back to simple practices. In dry seasons, we don’t need more. We need consistent simplicity.
One verse a day.
One honest prayer.
One quiet moment.
Small steps are still forward motion.
3. Don’t isolate. The enemy loves to convince us that we’re the only one feeling this way. But spiritual community is where stuck things get stirred back to life. Reach out. Text a friend. Go to church even when it feels hard. God often speaks through His people when we can’t hear Him clearly ourselves.
4. Trust that God is still working beneath the surface. Just because you can’t feel spiritual growth doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Some of the deepest roots grow in hidden seasons. “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree…they will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.” (Psalm 92:12-14)
Growth doesn’t always feel like progress. But God is faithful.
If you’re in a stuck or dry place right now, take heart. This isn’t the end of your story. It’s a chapter. And God is still writing it. He’s not disappointed in you. He’s drawing you closer—even now.
Let’s encourage one another:
Have you walked through a dry season before? What helped you stay grounded?
Leave a comment or send me a message—I’d love to hear your story.
